Refine AI Scripts Before Your Slides Become Vids

Turning a presentation into a professional video is getting a major precision boost. Google Workspace introduced a workflow update that gives creators more control: you can now edit your AI-generated scripts at the exact moment you convert Google Slides into Google Vids.

Previously, you had to wait for the entire import process to finish before you could tweak the AI's words. Now, you can perfect the narrative before the voiceovers are generated and the animations are applied, saving significant time in the editing suite.

1. Catching Errors Before They’re Spoken

This early review phase is a game-changer for anyone using Gemini to script their videos:

• Script vs. Speaker Notes: During the import, you can choose to use the AI-generated script or revert to your original speaker notes for each slide.
• Instant Refinement: You can tweak wording, adjust the tone, or correct technical terms on the fly. This ensures that the AI voiceover, which is generated immediately after the import, is flawless on the first try.
• Streamlined Workflow: By fixing the script early, you eliminate the need to go back and "regenerate" audio tracks later in the project, keeping your creative momentum high.

2. How to Use the New Screen

The new editing screen appears during the Convert Slides to Vids workflow:

• Prerequisite: You must have the "Include AI voiceover, script, and background music" toggle enabled to see the script editing interface.
• On-Slide Editing: You’ll see a preview of each slide alongside its proposed script. Simply click into the text box to make your changes before hitting Finish.

3. Admin & User Settings

• Admins: There are no admin controls for this feature. It is a core part of the Google Vids experience.
• End Users: This is ON by default. If you prefer to skip the manual script review, you can simply disable the AI voiceover toggle, and Vids will import your slides automatically as it did before.

4. Rollout & Availability

• Rapid Release Domains: Gradual rollout (up to 15 days) began on March 31, 2026.
• Scheduled Release Domains: Full rollout (1–3 days) starting on April 14, 2026.
• Eligible Tiers: Available to almost all Workspace editions, including Business Starter/Standard/Plus, Enterprise, and Education Plus. It is also available to personal Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers.
